Since then, the product has been sold on the TOJI official online store and at luxury hotels in Japan, and is loved by nature-minded customers who care about beauty and health. TOJI centers the brand on sake kasu, a byproduct of sake brewing that is rich in nutrients and beauty benefits yet has long gone unused, and creates products that draw out the full potential of this rich ingredient.

A Time to Soothe Body and Mind with Natural Scents

Our second product, Sake Kasu Bath Powder MORI, goes on sale today, August 11, on Mountain Day, a Japanese holiday for giving thanks for the gifts of nature. MORI keeps the pure formula of HAKU, which turns sake kasu* and natural salt directly into a bath powder, and adds a generous blend of 100% natural essential oils as its fragrance. Using only natural essential oils extracted from flowers, leaves, peels, fruits, seeds and bark, we carefully drew out and layered the scent of each plant to create a deep, refined fragrance. The sake kasu comes from Masumi, the sake made by Miyasaka Brewing, a long-established brewery in Suwa, Nagano. By slowly turning Masumi's sake kasu into powder at a low temperature, we remove the alcohol, and with no additives in the ingredients or the fragrance, it can be used with confidence even by people with sensitive skin.

Besides damage from strong UV rays, sitting in air-conditioned rooms with cold air blowing directly on you makes moisture evaporate from the skin's surface, leaving it easily dry. TOJI's bath powders are rich in sake kasu, an ingredient passed down in Japan as part of its wisdom of beauty and health. Sake kasu is full of amino acids that keep skin moist and B vitamins that energize it, gently moisturizing skin damaged by sunburn and more. Kojic acid from yeast and koji helps even out skin tone, and antioxidants including polyphenols support age care, for clearer-looking skin. In summer, it is recommended to soak slowly in lukewarm water of about 38 to 39°C (100 to 102°F). This eases the strain on your body while helping the skin absorb moisture, making it effective against summer dryness and as a soothing ritual on nights when sleep is hard to find.
